Welcome to our page! We are the Northern Illinois chapter of USA Dance (chapter #2039). Our Northern Illinois chapter is a friendly mix of couples and singles of all levels, from beginner to competitor. The general public is warmly invited to attend all of our events. 4th Saturday Ballroom Dance in Belvidere – every fourth Saturday of the month we hold a dance at the beautiful Community Building Complex of Boone County (Belvidere Community Center), 111 W. 1st St, Belvidere, IL. We start with a one hour lesson at 7:00, general dancing begins at 8:00. Mixers and exhibitions take place throughout the evening. (Note - the date will be moved if the 4th Saturday falls on Christmas Eve/Day. Also - the 4th Saturday of the month is not always the last Saturday of the month!) 2nd Saturday Ballroom Dance in Rockford – on the second Saturday of the month, September through November, and January through May in Rockford. 2nd Saturday dances are held at the Arthur Murray Studio, 7326 N. Cherry Vale Mall Dr., Rockford, IL. General dancing begins at 7:30. Admission to our dances is $6.00 for USA Dance members, $8.00 for non-members, and $2.00 for students.

Pec Playhouse Theatre is a volunteer-run community theater in northern Illinois. Because we are volunteer-run, we do not have regular business hours. However, feel free to call us our leave a message here -- we are generally quick to respond to our patrons. Pec Playhouse Theatre exists as an educational and charitable organization dedicated to the study, practice, and production of theatre and the related arts. We strive to provide quality theatre programs and related events for the greater enjoyment and appreciation of the people of Pecatonica, its surrounding communities, and the general public. We provide opportunities and encouragement to anyone having an active interest in theatre and related arts, including students and other young people, to use their talents, energies and ideas in the accomplishment of our goals.Pecatonica is a quiet little town nestled in the beautiful countryside of Northern Illinois, a wonderful place to visit annual events, browse the antique shops and other local stores, away from the big city. Just off of U.S. Highway 20, Pecatonica is easily accessible via many routes. Pec Playhouse Theatre (PPT) was formed in 1991 by a group of Pecatonica High School students and recent graduates who wanted to continue performing in theater after high school. With the help of some supportive adults, PPT was organized and produced its first show, Out of the Frying Pan. This show was funded entirely by membership dues and proceeds from a car wash. In these early years, shows were performed mostly at Pecatonica High School and occasionally at the American Legion Hall. By 1994, PPT began producing summer musicals with The Wizard of Oz, which marked a new attendance record. In the summer of 1995, PPT mentored the newly-formed Byron Civic Theatre in presenting its first production, Annie Get Your Gun. PPT was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in 1997. In 1999, PPT became a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, making most contributions to PPT tax-deductible. Meanwhile, Pecatonica High School ended its theater program. So, in 1998, PPT produced You Can’t Take It With You as the first of what was to become an annual main-stage show featuring high school students. As time and space at the high school became increasingly scarce, PPT entered into an agreement in 1998 with the Pecatonica Heritage Museum to use space in their building complex. This arrangement allowed Pec Playhouse to expand their schedule to five shows per year. As the years went by, theater seats, air conditioning, heating, lights, sound equipment, and bathrooms were added to the facility. With the help of 2 amazing contributors, Pecatonica Pharmacy and George Anderson, and the support of German American State Bank, PPT was able to purchase the building in late 2004. In 2007 the donation of newer, more comfortable theater seats from a Rockford Memorial Hospital made the PPT theater experience even more enjoyable for our patrons. Since that time, volunteers and friends of PPT continue to work to improve the building and the theater - one amazing project being the complete remodeling of the former doctor's apartment upstairs into a wonderful dressing and make-up area. We’re grateful to all of our friends and volunteers who have donated their time and energy over the years, and to our patrons and donors who keep us going. We are excited about the future of Pec Playhouse, and hope you’ll want to be a part!

Since 1972, Crusader Community Health has strived to ensure that all persons in our community have access to quality primary health care. Crusader Community Health plays a vital health care role in the community, serving patients unable to afford the rising cost of health care. While there are no restrictions on who can utilize its services, Crusader specializes in serving medically under served individuals. Without Crusader, a broad and growing segment of our population would fail to receive the primary health care that reduces the cost of catastrophic illness. The community's demand for affordable healthcare through Crusader is growing. On an annual basis, over 42,000 individuals receive care from Crusader Community Health. This accounts for over 150,000 individual patients visits. Nearly 97% of Crusader Community Health patients have incomes at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Approximately 35% have no health insurance and another 50% are Medicaid recipients. Today, Crusader Community Health is the only community health center located in northwest Illinois. Services are provided on an affordable, sliding discount basis and integrate health promotion and disease prevention into a program of comprehensive health care. Crusader Community Health is governed by a community board of directors. When we began our business in the Spring of 1985, Finials was a lamp shop selling a wide variety of lamps for the home and offering a large selection of replacement lampshades. After two years, we had the opportunity to purchase our present location. It had been a Scandinavian gift shop for a number of years. As we moved into the new location and after extensive remodeling and decorating, we fell more in love with our Swedish heritage. So, we decided to try something very unusual and combined the two businesses. Over the years, we have added on to the property yet with a concern to keep the charm of the original building. Presently, our 13 room “little red stuga” is filled with a wide variety of Scandinavian gifts. We shop various markets each year as well as going to Scandinavia in order to offer the best selection possible. You will find beautiful handcrafted wooden pieces as well as very simple smör (butter) knives - from the fine hand blown Orrefors crystal to the replacement glass for the Danish iron candleholders. Our museum campus has an assortment of historical buildings. The queen of the campus is the Waukesha Hangar, a reclaimed 1937 airplane hangar which houses our unique museum. Outside you can also visit our historic Slim's Garage, "fill up" at our historic Sunoco Gas Station, or just take in the beauty of our pastoral landscape while experiencing the thrill of airplanes taking off nearby. The Poplar Grove Vintage Wings and Wheels Museum is a great place to visit again and again for new exhibits and events throughout the year. The 2nd City Chorus was founded in 1996 and has earned the distinction as one of Rockford’s premier musical ensembles. As part of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the Rockford Metro Chapter has competed in many Society competitions and has was won the Small Chorus champingship in the Illinois District as well as the Illinois District Most Entertaining Chorus! In June of 2017 the Barbershop Harmony Society made a radical decision and called it "Everyone in Harmony". This new vision allowed woman to join the Society as full members. The Illinois District Fall Contest crowed the 2nd City Chorus as the First Mixed Chorus Champiions. The men and women of the 2nd City Chorus come from all walks of life - we are teachers, engineers, salesmen, pilots, mechanics, counselors, doctors, nurses and retirees. The one thing we all have in common is a tremendous love for music in the Barbershop style! Under the direction of Joe Tomecek, the group meets every Tuesday evening between 7:00 and 9:30 pm at the Christ United Methodist Church Church located at the northeast corner of Highcrest and Alpine Streets in Rockford.  All singers, regardless of experience are welcome to visit and explore membership in our group!

Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center offers an exciting range of live musical performances, a vibrant and growing Youth Music Program, and numerous musical performance and education opportunities for adults. The Mendelssohn PAC campus includes Mendelssohn Hall (406 N. Main St.) Emerson House (420 N. Main St.), and Starr Center (415 N.
